Research Fellow @ BC Children's Hospital
Dr. Hind Sbihi, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and a Research Associate at the School of Population and Public Health of the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Her research focuses on the human health effects of the built environment (air pollution, natural spaces, microbiome) with a growing interest in identifying intervention strategies to reduce exposures and improve health. Her postdoctoral training focuses on transforming plausible mechanistic insights into effective applications for the prevention of pediatric allergic diseases such as asthma. She is currently also involved in the Canadian Healthy Infant Longitudinal (CHILD) Study, within which she is examining the contribution of traffic-related air pollution, indoor exposures, as well as the role of features of the built environment—specifically, air pollution, green and blue spaces—in the aetiology of childhood asthma. She is past recipient of a Canadian Institute of Health Research Banting and Best Doctoral Award and a David Bates Scholarship.
