Dr. Bruce Mazer, MD, is Interim Executive Director/Chief Scientific Officer of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC). He is Professor of Pediatrics at McGill University and associate member of the Department of Medicine, and Division of Experimental Medicine.
Dr. Mazer’s research focuses B-lymphocytes and development of antibody producing cells, particularly IgE. He uses a combination of human studies and animal modelling to determine new ways of changing the immune response to allergens, and to help to naturally shape immune tolerance in individuals with allergies and asthma. He has been funded by CIHR, FRQ-S, NSERC, Allergen and Canadian Blood Services and is a proud member of the AllerGen NCE.
